Patio, Walkway, and Pool Deck Cleaning in West Beaverton, OR

This West Beaverton backyard cleaning covered the exposed-aggregate pool deck, connected patios and walkways, brick steps, and the brick floor around an outdoor kitchen. Heavy tree cover kept parts of the property shaded, including mossy areas around the pool.

One Connected Backyard

Cleaning Concrete, Brick, and Poolside Walkways

This was not one open patio. The backyard stepped down through seating areas, curved walkways, brick transitions, an outdoor kitchen, and the concrete surrounding the pool. We cleaned every surface included in that outdoor area rather than stopping at the largest slab.

The scope included pretreatment, pressure washing and surface cleaning where each surface allowed, and post-treatment. Open exposed-aggregate concrete received even surface-cleaner passes, while curved edges, brick steps, the outdoor-kitchen floor, and tighter runs beside landscaping needed more deliberate detail work.

What Mattered Here

Tree Shade Changed From One Level to the Next

A detail that mattered on this project was how the moss pattern followed the backyard layout. The pool deck and lower walkways sat beneath dense trees and beside planted rock borders, while the brick floor at the outdoor kitchen held buildup within narrow joints. Those were separate cleaning conditions even though they were only steps apart.

The photos also document existing joints and a crack in the exposed-aggregate concrete. Cleaning brightened the surfaces and removed the targeted organic buildup; it did not hide or repair normal material wear. Keeping that distinction visible makes the finished photos a more useful record of the work.

At the pool, the round brick coping and curved concrete edge ruled out treating the deck as one uninterrupted rectangle. The surface cleaner handled suitable open sections, and the bordering areas received the closer work needed to follow those curves.

West Beaverton Context

A Backyard Built Into Mature Landscaping

West Beaverton properties can have mature conifers, established hedges, rock borders, and sloped backyard layouts that create pockets of long-lasting shade. This yard had all of those conditions around an outdoor living space used for dining, cooking, walking, and swimming.

The finished views show the exposed aggregate looking brighter from the outdoor kitchen down to the pool. The brick steps and kitchen floor also read more clearly against the surrounding stone and landscaping. For similar properties, our patio cleaning and pressure washing pages explain how we separate open flatwork from joints, steps, edges, and mixed materials.

FAQ

West Beaverton Patio and Pool Deck Cleaning FAQs

Practical answers based on this mixed-surface backyard project.

Can a patio, pool deck, and walkways be cleaned in one visit?

Yes, when the surfaces are suitable and included in the estimate. This project combined the connected concrete areas, brick steps, and brick outdoor-kitchen floor in one coordinated scope.

Do you use a surface cleaner on pool-deck concrete?

A surface cleaner can provide an even pass on suitable open concrete. Curved pool edges, steps, brick borders, joints, and tight landscaping still need separate detail work.

Why does moss grow around a shaded Beaverton pool deck?

Heavy tree cover and limited sun can keep concrete and joints damp longer. Moss and other organic buildup often hold most around shaded edges, brick joints, and areas beside dense landscaping.

Can pressure washing repair cracks in exposed-aggregate concrete?

No. Cleaning can remove suitable surface buildup, but it does not close cracks, replace loose aggregate, repair mortar, or correct drainage and shade conditions.
